Workshops
Have you ever wanted to know more but haven’t had the time to explore topics in a public class setting? With workshops, we dive into specific segments, whether anatomy, the mind, or philosophy, and learn how to incorporate yoga for each topic.
When you leave a workshop, you’ll feel like you just had the best day at school ever!
Kosha Yin
An exploration through the sheaths
Join Amanda Madhu Whiting for an experience of yin through the five Koshas. The koshas are like sheaths of the body that, once explored, can access our true form: bliss. Together we will traverse through the physical layer, energetic layer, mind layer, wisdom layer, and finally the bliss layer through use of yin postures, visualization, meditation and quiet introspection.
Kosha yin was developed by Amanda Madhu as a way to strengthen the connection of body, mind and beyond.
Please bring with you a journal for notes.

Stillpoint & The Power of Yin
Yin practice escorts practitioners to the liminal edge of the unconscious and conscious mind, the outer dense body and the subtle meridians underlying this form. Travel within to the dynamic balance of chaos and order through which the energy body is made available to support the journey into wholeness.
Learn more on Yin theory and why a yin practice helps you to profoundly release long stored emotions and limiting beliefs, opening new spaciousness in your body/mind.
In this workshop, we’ll dive into emotions and the mind, and the correlation with organ and meridian theory. We will be practicing during the workshop, so please have your mat set up! You may need: blocks (you can use books if you don’t have them), bolster (or a pillow or rolled up towel), and perhaps an eye pillow (or scarf to drape over your eyes).
Yin & Yoga Nidra
Rest. Renew. Rejuvenate.
“Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.” ~ Rumi
Dive deep into the heart with a soft yin practice focussed on opening into possibility, followed by the practice of yoga nidra. Together, the two practices will leave you more in tune with your body, mind and soul, and with a deep awareness of your importance in your own life.
Yin yoga is a practice of stillness of the body, where we use long holds to tap into meridian lines. Yin allows us to explore what arises within, and through mindfulness, to observe what moves without judgement. Yoga nidra is the practice of deep yogic sleep – where the body is physically relaxed and the mind remains in a state of conscious awareness. Yoga nidra opens us to the ability to shift deeply rooted patterns and to allow the body to heal from within.

Yoga For Mental Stability
In the west, we are often in a state of constant fight or flight. Our Sympathetic nervous system is activated multiple times a day. Because of this, stress levels are higher, mental illness is more prevalent and anxiety/depression are more common than not.
In this workshop, learn techniques for mental health stability. Using meditation, yoga poses, breath work, hand mudras and more, we will create a tool kit for you to access in heightened periods of stress.
Please bring an open mind, a journal and a mat.
Yin & Somatics
The understanding of somatic practices is becoming more widely known and used in a variety of experiences. In this 2 hour workshop you’ll have an opportunity to bridge the practice of yin with somatic work, all through a trauma informed lens.
A combination of some theory as well as a yin practice dedicated to the soma will be explored through this workshop. Soma means body, and ultimately, all movement practices are somatic in nature.
In this practice you’ll:
Have an opportunity to practice choice
Be able to experience what a trauma informed lens can bring to a practice
Explore mind body connection
Learn how interoception plays a role in our lives
We will start with a brief talk on interoception, choice, collective experiences and somatic work, followed by a lengthy yin practice, ending with a discussion to bring it all together.
Please bring a journal and pen to practice.
This workshop is suitable for most practitioners. No previous yin nor somatic work is required to partake.
